#41 - Prisma Key!

So I missed a day! Instead of skipping it altogether I decided I'm just gonna pick up from there! I mean the rules for the project are: THERE ARE NO RULES!

So today I made a "quick" Michaels run, looking for inspiration. Well I found it alright! I was pretty excited, until they all but kicked me out! FYI Joann's is WAY nicer that Michaels! As I'm at the register I see the Prismacolor marker display in the front and I just needed one. As a kid I BEGGED my Daddy for Prismacolors whenever we went to the art supply in Uptown (It's now some kind of wine shop) Anyway I decided to scratch my initial project idea for today and do some doodles. 

This is actually page #2, because well I like this one better. 

Please note: I have a thing for eyebrows. Ask any friend of mine from HS... when I doodle it's either eyebrows or stars.

 

I totally didn't realize that this would be all wonky due to photobooth! EL LAME-O. I would fix it but I'm way too tired to care. I have to be up at 4-ish for the DERBY!!

#40 - Stitch Key

Today's project idea was to use yarn somehow, well I didn't have any yarn no did I want to buy some. I opted to use some thread instead. 

I used some sturdy black fabric and white thread. This only took me about 40minutes or so, it distracted me from that sickie feeling I'm currently having.

I think I should learn how to embroider, now that would be awesome.

#39 - Haiku Key

So I literally just got home from school! I've barely had anytime to myself today (yesterday now I guess) and the 30min I did, I didn't have my macbook. LAAME! I still managed to write this down so I wouldn't forget.

FYI: After about a week or so of not using the book, I decided to use today's project idea and just go with it. Today I'm supposed to be writing a Haiku..

MADE OF BRASS AND GOLD"

Man, I sucked so bad at making Haikus (Sp) in grade school, I'm sure you can tell. This one was way rough maybe down the line I'll come up with a better one!

I'm finally home! After 3 midterms BACK TO BACK, I'm battered but still fighting!
For my breads class we had to create five items using baguette dough. I'm sad a lot of the detail I put in before it baked didn't show up afterwards.


Because this one is SO AWESOME and HUGE, I think I'm in the clear to count it for yesterdays too.

#36 - Chocolate Mousse Key

This post is like a few hours too late but I think totally within reason! I made Chocolate Mousse from scratch and it didn't take me too long. Unfortunately, it is a sad day at my house, as my trusty stand mixer died. I'm 100% sure my mousse would've been finished in 15min but whatever! My arms are kinda sore, but that just means its been awhile. 

YUM!

Ta-DA!

Chocolate mousse really doesn't need 10x.. so it looks kinda weird but totally tastes good.

#35 - Wine Cap Key

I went out tonight for sushi with some old friends, afterwards we headed over to my friend B's place for a a quick girls night with some wine!

After talking it over with my friend Brittney, I decided to use the twist cap from some of the bottles. The first one I used totally didn't come out looking like anything. The second one ended up looking A LOT better.

#34 - Gross Key

So I went to my girl Nadia's place for our weekly Jersey Shore night. On our way out of her complex, I realized I hadn't made my key for today!! So I decided to make a key out of junk I found in my sister's car. Well I found a raffle ticket and an old stick of gum! It was pretty gross considering I noticed the gum had like a hair or something AFTER I had put it in my mouth!! Well anyway I thought it was funny! Pictures after I get home!! We're still stuck in the complex!!

#33 - Dead desktop key

Pretty self explanatory. My blasted back up desktop unit died while starting my post. Hopefully after tomorrow I never have to deal with this shit again... "WINDOWS IS THE KEY TO MY SLIGHTLY OVERWHELMING FRUSTRATION." does this statement count as my key?

#30 - Lego Key

Project idea for today: work with toys!! The Monster Baby just so happen to leave his brand new Legos at my house! Growing up, I only played with them at my cousins because they were boy toys! 

It took me a bit to get it to look remotely like a key. I was totally wishing I had the regular ones and not toddler ones. But apparently regular sized Lego's are an incredibly bad idea for 3 year-olds. 

Especially crazy ones like Elijah!

#29 - Glitter Make-Up Key

I made a make up key again but this time used my own makeup and a white base! This key looks 10 times better than the last one!

#28 - Elijah Key

I was strolling the mall today with my mom and sister in tow, and my mom saw a key necklace that reminded her of me. Out of nowhere it hit me "I didn't do a key for the 28th" UGH! I had it happen last week and I was hoping to stay on top of my game, but I just don't know what happened!

Once I got home I was debating on what to do my key on and my nephew, Elijah, decided he wanted to color with me. So I drew out a key and he colored it in for me. I love doing any type of activity with Tia's Little Monster, so I had fun.

Yes, that's a spiderweb... he's OBSESSED with Spiderman!

#27 - Leaf Key

The project idea for today had me using a recent dream for inspiration. And considering the horrible dreams I've had as of late, I thought "FUCK THAT!" There was an indoor plant that I decided it needed to be pruned and used a leaf as my material.

EDITED: So for some reason I couldn't upload any photos from my camera last night. Turns out my Uncle uploaded 361 photos and about 15 videos! I'm pretty sure my camera was protesting in one way or another.

#26 - Salvadorian Quesadilla Key

So today I was to make something portable or that seems portable. I was at a complete loss for awhile, and decided to go to my study group, then tackle this project once I got back. Well I get in and turns out the General is making her Salvadorian quesadilla! For those of you that don't know: cooking/baking definitely not the General's forte. However, there are about 5 dishes she can rock the shit out of, one of them being this Quesadilla recipe.

NOTE: My parents are from Central America which is NOT Mexico, so our quesadillas are NOT tortillas filled with cheese and meat. Salvadorian Quesadilla is a mildly sweet bread made with a blend of cheeses.

Random Fact: What is known in Mexico as a quesadilla, in Guatemala and El Salvador is actually called a doblada.

#25 - Random junk key

Today I was supposed to make a key with stuff found outside. Well today I have school and leisurely going outside just wasn't going to happen.

#24 - Green Key

I was supposed to only use green materials or surfaces. I used one of my notebooks for school AND a green sharpie. This was a key I saw the other day.... I'm debating whether or not I want to start an actual collection.

#23 - Late Key

Yesterday I totally fucked up!! I got so involved in homework and studying, I completely forgot to blog. I decided to still do a project because I'm determined to stick with it.
I found a tiny surface using a lipgloss cap. I wish I had better lighting but it'll just have to do!!

#22 - Bridge Key

For today's project, I was to make a bridge of some sort with my subject. I went through all the old keys we just so happen to have at my house and gave it a go. It wasn't really coming out... so I grabbed a piece of paper and a pen. It definitely helped.. well sorta. Nothing really spectacular but I think that has more to do with a sick me than anything else. Tomorrow should be better.

#21 - 10 Word Story Key

Today I was supposed to write a 10 word story and possibly illustrate it. Well the 10 word story took me long enough, I think I get a free pass on the illustration!
